This project involved the refurbishment of an existing 100-year-old, four-storey, load bearing masonry, light industrial building to create a mixed development of residential and office accommodation. The existing structure comprised timber floors spanning onto steel beams on cast-iron columns, all of which were justified for the new configuration or modified as necessary. The existing roof structure was demolished and an additional storey added along with a new stair core to the rear.
