Mike has over twenty five years design experience, working closely with both client and contractors on various design and construct projects to enable the works to be completed both on time and within budget. The last ten years have been spent working on various cement projects both in the UK and overseas. This is Mike’s second spell at the company having originally joined in 2002. From 2005 until May 2010 he was employed by a major cement plant manufacturer, initially based in the civil design offices in Mumbai, India with responsibility for all international civil design projects. After completion of this assignment he worked in the head office in Copenhagen with responsibility for the civil design co-ordination on various turnkey and semi turnkey projects worldwide. In May 2010 Mike rejoined GDC. His experience includes project management, fee bidding, tender and detailed design (with an emphasis on heavy industrial design) and budget costing to enable turnkey project costing. He also has experience of assessment of structural failures as well as major ship insurance claims and site supervision. In addition to these duties Mike is responsible for GDC’s in house quality assurance procedures.
