This new sports facility forms part of our ongoing work for Ealing Hammersmith and West London College at their Barons Court site.
The superstructure consists of long span cellular beams supporting purlins and roof decking. The roof is braced to act as a diaphragm to transfer lateral load to the vertically braced bays. Columns support the roof beams predominantly around the perimeter and in ancillary areas to provide the required column free space for the sports hall. Columns are supported on mass concrete pad foundations and the ground floor slab is non-suspended. The building is clad with cavity masonry walls supported on strip foundations.
