New Centre of Vocational Excellence.

This final phase of the redevelopment of the Ealing site included a new main college reception, general teaching facilities, commercial quality TV and sound recording studios with editing suites, a training kitchen and a gym. Also, some administration facilities were provided. The site, whilst not in a conservation area, is located next door to the Grade I listed Pitshanger Manor Museum and was therefore subject to close scrutiny by both the local planners and English Heritage. The development comprises a five-storey insitu reinforced concrete framed block on pad foundations. Flat plate concrete slabs have been incorporated to all levels supported on concrete columns and shear walls. The new construction is linked into an existing three-storey teaching block, which was also totally refurbished and upgraded to modern day expectations.
