Structural Engineering

This challenging scheme consisted of the refurbishment and reconfiguration of an existing building together with the addition of two new floors.

The client brief was to provide open plan office accommodation at basement to third floor with the new fourth and fifth floors providing residential accommodation.

Internal load bearing walls and floors were demolished whilst the existing perimeter walls were retained. As a result temporary façade retention was provided. A new steel frame was constructed to support new floor slabs with increased floor to ceiling heights, whilst a new lift and stair core along the courtyard elevation utilised a steel frame along with a new façade.
