Structural Engineering
This project consists of the structural design of 254 units across three phases at the Blakemore Manor site. GDC Partnership was appointed to carry out the foundation design including the reinforced concrete detailing to all plots. The ground conditions across the site meant that the foundations to all plots needed to be reinforced due to the presence of chalk and the risk of subsidence. Reinforced strip foundations were used as standard but in particular high risk areas reinforced raft foundations were applied, with some of these being supplemented with vibro stone columns where required.
